Description First Christian Church exists to glorify God (Isaiah 43:7), fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19,20), and equip people for service (Ephesians 4:11-16). Organizationally, First Christian Church strives to help individual believers to fulfill this purpose through worship (Psalm 100:4), fellowship (Hebrews 10;24, 25), biblical training and instruction (II Timothy 2:15).

What denomination are you? Many people have asked to what denomination we belong. The fact is, we belong to none. Early in the nineteenth century there was unrest among the churches in America. Many denominations took the unpopular belief that the followers of Christ should lay aside the traditions of man and go back to the Church described in the New Testament. Walter Scott, James O’Kelly, Barton W. Stone, Thomas and Alexander Campbell were among the brave pioneers who advocated a discarding of all denominational names, sectarian creeds, and religious divisions. Almost simultaneously, yet without knowledge of one another, these men appealed to all sincere believers to be “Christians and Christians only.” They aimed not to start another denomination, but to call people back to the Church of the New Testament. As followers of these ideals became aware of one another and began to fellowship with together, the affiliation became known as the Restoration Movement. These Christians were attempting to restore Christianity to its original, New Testament form. This today is still the plea of First Christian Church.
